Finished! (thank the heavens...)

The Kitty Companion is finally complete! I'm not gonna lie, I wanted to give up on this game. There were times were I genuinely hated working on it because it was stressful and time consuming and nothing wanted to work! I kept saying to myself "This game is stupid" and "Everyone will hate it" and "I'm not good enough to be a game developer so I should just quit." But then I started thinking to myself, why am I doing this and who am I doing this for? Well the answer is...because it's fun. It's not that deep, mate.

I never did it for the money or the fame and while that stuff would be nice, I just wanted to have fun. I started realizing It's not about the amount of views or downloads  or comments people leave, it's about the craft. The story. The passion. All a true game developer wants is to tell a story that THEY love. Not to please the masses. Not to make buttloads of cash and become famous. If they don't like their game, no-one else will. At least that's what I think anyway...

And I would just like to say thank everyone who could made this game possible. Thank you to my fellow developers who joined the Sweet to Sour Game Jam. Thank you to everyone has viewed and played the game. Thank you to my friends and family for always supporting me. And thank you to my sanity for staying around

I didn't really know what to do to make this last post special. So let me share some of the behind the scenes stuff and what changed during development:

1) Roxanne's original name  was Donna. Mostly just because I like that name. But when I got a good look at Roxanne's design I was like: 'Yep, she looks like a Roxanne'

2) Sakura was originally named Akane. I was meant to work with an artist who would do the character art but unfortunately the agreement never fell through. Her name was Akane because her hair was originally meant to be red. Just like fire. And as much as I love NoranekoGames's artwork, the only one that suited her design was the pink haired girl. And her name was then changed to Sakura. Just like sakura trees. Yeah, this girl is into hair colours...

3) Mango's original design looked like this:

And then later it was:

He still looks pretty similar, but I wanted him to have a more 'fancy man' vibe. Maybe with a hint of evil...uh I mean I love Mango. I praise our capital overloads. Please don't hurt my family, Mango...

Yeah that's all I really got to say. Everything else pretty much stayed the same

Goodbye and I hope to see you on the next project <3
